The 2012 BMW 1 Series M Sport package for the five-door hatchback model (not the coupe), has been revealed this week. The M Sport pack for the latest generation 2012 BMW 1-Series 5-door hatch includes several styling updates, as well as some performance enhancements. For starters the 2012 1-Series M Sport comes with new aerodynamics, which include a new front bumper with larger air intakes. Even though BMW did not release any images of the 2012 1-Series M Sport's rear, we're sure there are some aero mods there too. The 2012 M Sport pack for the 5-door 1-Series includes a new set of 18-inch Star-spoke light alloy wheels, a High-gloss Shadowline exterior trim and a more dramatically designed front kidney grille.
For the interior of the 2012 BMW 1 Series, the M Sport package adds an Anthracite headlining, Aluminum Hexagon interior trim, Estoril Blue styling accents, and of course, M badge door sills. The 2012 BMW 1-Series M Sport also adds a set of front sport seats, covered in an Anthracite Hexagon cloth / Alcantara upholstery. The usual sport multifunction steering wheel and a short-shift gear lever are also included. For better handling and higher cornering speeds, the 2012 BMW 1-Series M Sport is equipped with a new suspension system, which, apart from being stiffer than the standard one, it also lowers the ride height of the hatch by 10 mm.
The new 2012 BMW 125d and 125i 5-door hatchbacks will be available in M Sport trim only. The 2012 BMW 1 Series M Sport price list for the UK market starts at £22,510 OTR for the 116i and goes up to £27,820 OTR for the most expensive model (the 125d). The 2012 BMW 125i M Sport costs from £26,030 OTR while the 2012 BMW 125d M Sport will cost you at least £27,820 OTR.
The M Sport package for the new 1-Series five-door can be completed with the Sport Plus Edition pack. This extra option includes Dark Line rear lights and Black mirror casings, Boston leature upholstery lines and Bluetooth / USB connectivity.
