BMW revealed at the beginning of this week the 2013 3-door version of the 1 Series hatchback. The 2013 BMW 1 Series 3 Door hatchback is basically the same car as the 5-door model, which was premiered last year, with a few design changes, obviously. The differences between the two body versions are visible on the side view. The new BMW 1 Series 3 Door (2013) features a stretched side line, two wide doors with frameless windows and strongly retracted side windows. The Bavarian carmaker will offer several personalization options for the new 3 Door 1-Series, including the BMW Sport Line, the BMW Urban Line and an M Sport Package. The 2013 1 Series 3-door offers more interior room than its predecessor. BMW says it is 85-mm longer, and 17-mm wider.
It also has a 30-mm wider wheelbase, and wider tracks (51-mm front and 72-mm rear). The new 1 Series 3 Door (2013) offers 21 millimeters more rear leg room, and 30 liters of extra luggage space (360 liters in total). Thanks tot a foldable rear bench, the 2013 version of the 3-door hatch has a maximum storage capacity of 1,200 liters.
The 3-door version of the 2013 BMW 1 Series will be available in several versions, including the new 114i, which develops 75 kW/102 hp.
These are the models, which will be available at launch:
- BMW 116i (100 kW/136 hp), BMW 125i (160 kW/218 hp),
- BMW 116d (85 kW/116 hp), BMW 118d (105 kW/143 hp) and the
- BMW 125d (160 kW/218 hp) and the BMW 116d EfficientDynamics Edition with 85 kW/116 hp.
From November 2012, the carmaker will add a few mode versions, including the BMW 118i (125 kW/170 hp), the BMW 120d (135 kW/184 hp) and the BMW 120d xDrive.
The equipment list of the 2013 BMW 1 Series 3 Door Hatchback will include, among others, Auto Start Stop, an ECO PRO mode, the DSC Dynamic Stability Control including DTC and an Active Differential Brake (ADB-Sport). The driver assistance systems offered with the new model include the ConnectedDrive system, High-Beam Assistant, Adaptive Headlights, Rear View Camera, Lane Departure Warning including Rear Collision Warning, Parking Assistant, Cruise Control with braking function, Speed Limit Info with No Passing Indicator. You'll also get Internet access.
The price list for the new 2013 1 Series 3-Door model range will be announced at a later date.
