Volkswagen announced today the Golf GTI Edition 35 price list for the UK market, where the new anniversary model will go on sale today. Volkswagen's Edition 35 is equipped with the most powerful production engine to ever power a Golf GTI - a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder TSI turbocharged engine developing 235 PS at 5,500 rpm and 300 Nm (221 lbs ft) of torque at 2,200 rpm. This is 25 PS more than the regular version of the GTI. VW's Golf GTI Edition 35 is able to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 6.6 seconds and it has a top speed of 153 mph. In terms of efficiency, the Golf GTI Edition 35 is able to offer a 34.9 mpg (35.3 mpg for the DSG equipped version) fuel consumption on the combined cycle and a 189 g/km (185 g/km DSG) CO2 emissions level.
Volkswagen will sell you the Golf GTI Edition 35 with a 6-speed manual transmission, or the fast shifting 6-speed DSG gearbox. The equipment list of the Golf GTI Edition 35 includes bi-xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights, 18 inch wheels, gloss black door mirror casings, and tinted rear windows. The Golf GTI Edition 35 also comes with distinctive aerodynamics, which include new side skirts and a re-styled front bumper.
At the interior, VW's Edition 35 Golf GTI comes with heated Vienna leather front sports seats,
the famous GTI "golf ball" gearknob and various styling accents.
The Volkswagen Golf GTI Edition 35 price list for the British market starts at 27,525 GBP for the 3-door version with the manual transmission, and goes up to 29,405 GBP for the 5-door DSG model.
