Volkswagen announced today the Golf GTI VII's price list for the UK market, where the hot hatch just went on sale. The Volkswagen Golf GTI VII is going to be available in Britain with two power levels. As you know, the seventh generation of the VW Golf GTI is powered by a 2.0-liter TSI 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that's good for 220 PS from 4,500-6,300 rpm. The UK market will also get the Performance version of the Golf 7 GTI, which develops 230 PS between 4,700-6,200 rpm. Both versions of the hatchback are good for 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque from 1,500-4,400 rpm (GTI performance 1,500-4,600 rpm). The VW Golf GTI 7 accelerates from zero to 62 mph in 6.5 seconds and it has a top speed of 152 mph. The GTI Performance can get from nought to 62 mph in 6.4 seconds and it can reach a maximum speed of 155 mph.
The VW Golf GTI VII comes equipped with a Stop/Start system, a six-speed manual transmission or an optional 6-speed DSG gearbox. The GTI Performance version also gets a front limited slip diff. The standard Golf VII GTI is equipped with 312 x 25 mm brake discs at the front and 300 x 12 mm solid discs at the rear. The Performance model gets 340 x 30 mm ventilated brake discs for the front axle and 310 x 22 mm discs for the rear one. The GTI Performance's front differential, which is called VAQ, allows higher cornering speeds. It consists of a multi-plate coupler between the differential cage and right driveshaft, which controls locking torque electro-hydraulically.

The Volkswagen Golf GTI VII's UK price list starts at £25,845 RRP OTR and it goes up to £28,895 RRP OTR for the top of the range model. The Golf GTI Performance is going to cost you at least £26,825 RRP OTR.
