The Volkswagen Golf GTI VII is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine that develops 230 hp and 350 Nm of torque. With this engine, the seventh generation VW Golf GTI is able to accelerate from zero to 62 mph in 6.5 seconds. The six-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission is an optional extra, which is going to cost you an additional $1,100.

Volkswagen plans to offer the Performance package in the USA too. This will add larger brakes, a torque-sensing electronically-controlled limited-slip differential, and a 10 horsepower boost over the regular GTI. The Performance package is priced at $1,495.

Volkswagen is offering the Lighting Package for the Golf 7 GTI, which is priced at $995 and it includes Bi-Xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights and the Adaptive Front-lighting System. The Driver Assistance Package, which adds a front collision warning system and front and rear Park Distance Control, is going to cost you an extra $695.
